Shalom Messas, (13 February 1909 - 12 April 2003), was the Chief Rabbi of Morocco from 1961 until 1978, when he made aliyah to become the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, in which position he served until his death. He wrote many works: Mizrah Chemech, Tevouot Chemech, Chemech Oumaguen, Beit Chemech and Veham Hachemech.
