Ada Maris is a Mexican-American actress. She was born Ada Marentes and has been married to actor Tony Plana since 1988. They have two children.

Career

Maris made a big splash on an episode of "The Cosby Show" playing the girlfriend of a community-center director played by Tony Orlando. This was supposed to be a pilot for a series centered on Maris and Orlando, but it was never picked up by the network. She then went on to play Nurse Gina Cuevas on "Nurses" for its entire three-season run in the early 1990s.

Most recently Maris became known for playing Captain Erika Hernandez on '. Her husband, Tony Plana, had appeared in the earlier Star Trek spin-off, '. She also played Sonia Garcia in the television comedy "The Brothers Garcia" for the full run of the series.
