Bâbak Amir-Tahmasseb

Bâbak Amir-Tahmasseb (born 19 May 1976 in Tehran, Iran) is a French flatwater canoer. His greatest success came in 2001 when he won the World Championships in the K-1 kayak 1000m event. He was also the European K-1 1000m silver medallist in 1999 and the Junior K1 Wild Water World Champion in 1994.

At the 2000 Olympics Bâbak competed in the K-2, partnering Philippe Aubertin. They finished fifth in the 1000m final. The next day they just missed out on a 500m medal, finishing fourth, just 0.15 seconds behind Ronald Rauhe and Tim Wieskötter of Germany. At the 2004 Olympics in Athens Bâbak reached the K-1 500m final, finishing seventh.

He is a member of the Strasbourg Eaux-Vives club.
