- Influenza A virus subtype H9N2
H9N2 is a subtype of the species Influenza A virus (sometimes called bird flu virus). In
1999 and2003 , an H9N2 influenza strain caused illness in three people, aged one, four and five years old, inHong Kong . All three patients recovered. In2007 an H9N2 influenza strain caused illness in a 9-month old baby inHong Kong .
