Professor Gregory Craven (5/3/1958) B.A, LL.B., LL.M., is the Vice-Chancellor at the

He was a leading advocate of republicanism in the leadup to the (eventually unsuccessful) 1999 referendum on the proposed change inAustralia from being aconstitutional monarchy to arepublic . He is also noted as a key Australian Catholic opinion on most important issues. His books include 2004's "Conversations with the Constitution: Not Just a Piece of Paper" ISBN 9780868404394 he also wrote two books on federalism and succession. Prior to his appointment at ACU National, Professor Craven served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategy & Planning) atCurtin University of Technology inWestern Australia , where he also held the position of Professor of Government and Constitutional Law, having previously served as Executive Director of the John Curtin Institute of Public Policy.Prior to this, he was Foundation Dean and Professor of Law at the University of Notre Dame Australia, and a Reader in Law at the University of Melbourne. He served as Crown Counsel to the Victorian Government from 1992-95.
