Friesland Ridge in theTangra Mountains , easternLivingston Island and has an elevation 1,473 m. The first ascent was on14 December 2004 by the Tangra 2004/05 Survey team (Lyubomir Ivanov andDoychin Vasilev ) fromCamp Academia andCatalunyan Saddle .The peak is bounded by
Catalunyan Saddle to the west andShipka Saddle to the east and is heavily glaciated and crevassed, with precipitous western, southern and eastern slopes. The peak surmountsHuron Glacier to the northwest and northeast, andMacy Glacier andBrunow Bay area to the south. Its northern offshoot formsZograf Peak is linked toLozen Nunatak , Erma Knoll andAheloy Nunatak in Huron Glacier.Lyaskovets is a town in central northern Bulgaria.Location
The peak is located 2.37 km east-northeast of
Mount Friesland (the summit of Friesland Ridge, 1,700 m), 3.2 km south-southeast of Kuzman Knoll, 1.33 km south by east ofZograf Peak , 1.35 km west ofLevski Peak , and 4.7 km west by north ofGreat Needle Peak (the summit of Levski Ridge, approx. 1,700 m) (UK Directorate of Overseas Surveys mapping in 1968, Bulgarian mapping in 2005).See also
