Greenmount Beach, Queensland

Greenmount Beach, Queensland

Greenmount is a coastal headland on Queensland's Gold Coast, separating the long stretch of Coolangatta beach to the north and the small Rainbow Bay to the south.

Greenmount beach is just north of the headland. In the past the corner in close to the headland was partly sheltered from ocean swells, and the headland created a point break for surfing. Today sand pumped across the mouth of the Tweed River has filled the beach, and what was a distinct surf break is now part of the Superbank starting from Snapper Rocks.

Greenmount is home to Greenmount Surf Club, a small club with nippers training ( junior lifesavers).
