Career
She started her career with the TV series
Chunauti (1987) but made her breakthrough in films with "Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa " oppositeShahrukh Khan . The movie was a huge hit and she became a star overnight. After a few films she left the industry and began a music career in the 1990s, releasing the pop albums "Dole Dole" and "Dum Tara". She returned nearly ten years later in the critically acclaimed film "My Wife's Murder " (2005).Personal life
She was married to
Shekhar Kapur , a renowned filmmaker from India. They have a daughter, Kaveri. In February 2007 they got divorced, allegedly due to an affair Kapur had with Bollywood actressPreity Zinta . Zinta has since denied the allegations brought forth by Krishnamurthy.Filmography
