March 25 ,1983 in Milton,Massachusetts ) is the first American male team-sport professional athlete to be openly gay during his playing career. He had been a professionallacrosse goaltender for theLong Island Lizards ofMajor League Lacrosse . He was originally drafted by his hometown team, theBoston Cannons . As of 2007, he is in graduate school in Los Angeles.A two-time All-American at
