No name (brand)

:"This article refers to a private label brand. For other uses, please see No Name."no name (all lower case) (French sans nom) is a brand used by Loblaw Companies Ltd.-owned grocery stores in Canada to refer to their value line of private label brand products. It predates their President's Choice brand.

The brand has always been associated with the colour yellow; all packaging is primarily in this colour, with a simple graphical layout. Recently, however, packaging for the brand has become more elaborate, utilizing a "no name" logo and photography of the product. In a 1987 episode of CTV television program "Live It Up!", a "What bugs you?" segment involved the concern over their simple labelling, as their lineup of sprays, which includes those used in the preparation of food and those used for cleaning, may confuse consumers and may be hazardous to a person's health if a wrong spray is accidentally used. An executive from Loblaws appeared on the show to introduce changes to their no name sprays: sprays with yellow caps are safe to be used in the preparation of food, while sprays with red caps can be hazardous to a person's health if consumed.
