nihongo|Shunsaku Ban|伴 俊作 "Ban Shunsaku", also known as Higeoyaji ("hige-oyaji" ヒゲオヤジ "Mustache-Daddy"), Albert "Daddy Walrus" Duncan (and also Dr. McNuggett and Mr. Pompous) in the English versions of the 1963 and 1980 Astro Boy anime, Mr. Mustachio in the English version of the Astro Boy manga and as Wally Kisagiri in the English version of the 2003 anime, is a recurrent character in the works of Osamu Tezuka, especially Astro Boy and Metropolis, and a part of Osamu Tezuka's Star System. He has had many voice actors in many of his anime appearances, but his most famous seiyuu is Kazuo Kumakura.

Appearance

Higeoyaji is a middle-aged Japanese man (actually 42 years old, as he said in Volume 1 of the "Astro Boy" manga), is from Tokyo, and is prematurely bald, portly, and has, his most distinguishing feature, a large moustache. (The moustache, which gives him a resemblance to a walrus, is the reason for his nickname in the English version of the anime -- although as a bonus it is also a pun on the name of Daddy Warbucks.)

In most of his manga/anime appearances, Higeoyaji is a private investigator, a teacher (especially in "Astro Boy", at Ochanomizu Elementary School), an expert at various martial arts (judo, boxing, karate, pro wrestling, and aikido are mentioned), as well as practiced in flower arranging.
