Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO is a UK-based advertising agency which has produced several well-known television commercials, including:

*Several adverts for the Guinness "Good things come to those who wait" campaign, including "Surfer", which was voted the best television commercial of all time in a UK poll conducted by The Sunday Times and Channel 4, and "noitulovE", which won more awards than any other campaign worldwide in 2006. *The BBC One trailer "Rush Hour", featuring parkour and free running with David Belle, which first brought the art to mainstream attention in the UK.

History

Peter Mead and Adrian Vickers had founded Mead Davies & Vickers. David Abbott, previously of DDB Worldwide, joined them in 1979 to form Abbott Mead Vickers.

Long established as the UK's biggest advertising agency, AMV became the local outpost for the US network BBDO in 1991, via a minority stake. BBDO acquired the remaining shares in 1998, and it was renamed Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO.

Along with publishing agency Redwood, direct marketer Craik Jones, and integrated agency Proximity and others, AMV BBDO forms part of AMV Group. [ [http://www.amvgroup.com/about.html AMV GROUP - Integrated Solutions ] ] AMV Group is, in turn, owned by Omnicom Group.
