Professor Sir John Brian Pendry FRS BA MA PhD
FInstP , (born 1944), is an Englishtheoretical physicist .Professor Pendry is well known for his work on the structure of surfaces and their interaction with electrons and photons. He has published over 200 scientific papers. He has published on subjects such as surface
plasmons andnegative refractive index materials.From 1975-1981 he worked at theDaresbury Laboratory , Cheshire.He has worked atImperial College of Science and Technology, London since he was appointed professor in 1981. He was head of the department of physics (1998-2001) and principal of the faculty of physical sciences (2001-2002). He is an honorary fellow ofDowning College , Cambridge and anIEEE fellow.elected publications
