Klabat University

Klabat University is a Christian institution. It was established on October 7, 1965 by "Gereja Masehi Advent Hari Ketujuh" (GMAHK). GMAHK is the Indonesian official name for the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church. At present, the university is run by "Yayasan Universitas Klabat" under the care of "Uni Konfrens Indonesia Kawasan Timur" (UKIKT) or the East Indonesian Union Conference (EIUC) of SDA. Klabat University is located in North Sulawesi province of Indonesia, particularly in Airmadidi, a town near Manado city. Manado is the capital of North Sulawesi province. The university can be reached by public vehicles such as “mikro” (a kind of small van) or taxi, that would take about 30 minutes from Manado and the airport. The distance between Manado and Klabat University is approximately 25 km.

Formerly, the university was called in Indonesian "Universitas Gunung Klabat" or "Mount Klabat University" in English. The institution has been renamed "Universitas Klabat" or "Klabat University." This institution is named after the most prominent mount in the North Sulawesi region, Mount Klabat, because of its location. The university is situated in the valley of Mount Klabat.

The graduates of Klabat University have been well-received within Indonesia. Recently, this institution has been recognized as a leading private university in the central and eastern regions of Indonesia. The university alumni can be found in many parts of the world.

# Faculty of Philosophy—Major in Theology and Philosophy of the SDA church.
# Faculty of Education—Major in (1) Religious Education with a program of study in Religion; (2) Language and Art with a program of English study; (3) Social Science with a program of study in [a] Education and Co-operation and [b] History; and (4) Elementary Education with a program of study in Education for Elementary School.
# Faculty of Agriculture—Major in Agricultural with a program of study in Agronomy.
# Faculty of Computer Science—Major in Computer Science with a program of study in [a] Computer Science and [b] Information Technology.
# Institute of Nursing—Major in Nursing.
# Institute of Secretary—Major in Office Administration.

Ethical code

The religious environment of the teaching-learning process in the university plays a key role for the success of its students. Besides knowledge and science, the moral and character developments of the students get a full attention of the university. Drugs, alcoholic drinks, and cigarette are not allowed in the campus; moreover, the students are strongly encouraged not to use them outside the campus. A student's failure on this matter and other policies of the university will be resulted in the dropout of the student from the university. High discipline atmosphere of the campus life is a distinctive characteristic of this Christian institution. Christian values are highly respected and implemented by the institution.
