Shared transport

Shared transport is where private transport is vehicle sharing arrangements, crating a hybrid between ad hoc and public transport. Systems include carpools and vanpools (aka ride-sharing), community buses and vans, demand responsive transit (DRT), paratransit, and a range of taxi projects and even hitchhiking and its numerous variants. Most of these services are planned and operated by either for-profit groups or community and special service organizations.
