In February 2006, Fountain came third in the BBC show Just the Two of Us, a singing competition in which celebrities are paired up with professional singers and are voted off, day by day. His singing partner was the former S Club 7 member Jo O'Meara.

On 7 June 2006, Fountain injured himself on location whilst filming for Hollyoaks when he touched an electric fence.[2]

It was confirmed on 11 March that Fountain would be leaving Hollyoaks on 3 June 2009 in a joint exit storyline alongside Jamie Lomas who plays Warren.

On 30 January 2010 he appeared as a patient called Seb in Casualty. Fountain played the role of PC Paul Tait in the BBC Drama Five Days in March 2010.

Fountain was a runner up in the third series of ITV show Dancing on Ice. He was partnered with British skater Frankie Poultney. He also won the Dancing on Ice Tour 2008 with 24 wins and went home with the Dancing on Ice Tour Winners Trophy for winning the most shows. Second place went to Suzanne Shaw with 11 wins and 3rd place went to Kyran Bracken with 9 wins.[citation needed])))

Leaving Hollyoaks (Justin Burton 2003-2009)

In March 2009, it was reported that Fountain was to depart his role as Hollyoaks' Justin Burton and would be onscreen to UK viewers until at least May of the same year. He exited the show (after nearly six years) in dramatic fashion - a blazing fire at The Loft, which saw the return of Clare Cunningham, played by Gemma Bissix and tied in with the departure of Jamie Lomas, who played bad-boy Warren Fox.
