- Zuppa Inglese
Zuppa Inglese, (in Italian, "English soup") is a
custard -baseddessert .It is possibly Italian in origin, but may also be derived from the
trifle ortipsy cake , popular Britishdesserts . To make Zuppa Inglese, wedges ofsponge cake or delicatecookies such asladyfingers are dipped in sweetwine or lightliqueur , then layered withwhipped cream , dicedcandied fruit , and chopped bittersweetchocolate .
