Jayson Stark

Jayson Stark (born 19 July 1951 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American sportswriter. He attended Syracuse University where he got a newspaper journalism degree. He now is a senior writer for espn.com. He makes weekly appearances on Mike and Mike on Tuesday mornings. He also contributes to Sports Center, ESPN News, and Baseball Tonight.

Prior to joining ESPN in 2000, Stark covered the Philadelphia Phillies for "The Philadelphia Inquirer", and was twice named Pennsylvania's Sportswriter of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.

In 2007, Stark wrote his first book called The Stark Truth: The Most Overrated and Underrated Players in Baseball History.

On September 29, 2008, he [http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2008/columns/story?columnist=stark_jayson&id=3617228 predicted in an ESPN article] that the Chicago Cubs would win the World Series. However, the Cubs were swept in three games during the NLDS by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
