History

Dudley Employees Sports and Social Club was founded in June 1979 from the ashes of the Marsh and Baxter works team which had competed for many years in local works leagues before the parent company folded. In 1985 the new club joined the Midland Football Combination, initially in Division Two. Despite only finishing ninth in the league, they were placed in Division One for the following season, and were promoted to the Premier Division in 1997, even though they had only finished seventh. In 1999 Sports finished rock bottom and were relegated back to Division One, but bounced back in 2003. In 2006 the step 5 leagues in the West Midlands area underwent some re-organisation and Sports were moved into the West Midlands (Regional) League.

The club also operates teams in other sports, including darts, bowls and even pigeon racing.
