Addison Trail High School, or ATHS, is a public four-year high school in DuPage County, located approximately half a mile east of Interstate 355 at the intersection of Army Trail Road and Lombard Road in Addison, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of School District 88, which also includes Willowbrook High School. Addison Trail draws it's students from Addison,and a portion of unincorporated Lombard.

History

Addison Trail opened in 1966 and was originally to be named Army Trail High School [Original Blue Prints] , after the street that is situated on. The students that attended Addison Trail the year it opened were mostly transfers from York High School and Willowbrook High School, Addison Trail's sister school.

Academics

In 2005, Addison Trail had an average composite ACT score of 19.9 and graduated 85.8% of its senior class. The average class size is 21.5. Addison Trail has now made Adequate Yearly Progress on the Prairie State Achievements Examination, a state test part of the No Child Left Behind Act, two years in a row. Athletics

Addison Trail's athletic teams play in the West Suburban Gold Division, and Illinois High School Association. Addison Trail's mascot is Bucky the Blazer.Addison Trail currently has the 13th most overall state titles in Illinois history. Addison Trail's football team was state runner-up in 1983 losing to East St. Louis High School and again in 1997 to Lincoln Way High School. The football team has dominated the West Suburban Gold Conference as of late winning conference two of the last three years.

The boys gymnastics team won 7 state titles and the girls have 5 under coach Fred Dennis (Staffed: 1976-2002). This is the largest number of gymnastics state titles held by any school in Illinois. Also, the 1982 boys gymnastics team won the US National Meet and was the best high school team in the US for that year.

*Boys Soccer: Fourth place in 1990.
*Boys Wrestling: State Champion in 1979,1980. Second place in 1971. Sixth place in 1975.
*Girls Gymnastics: State Champions in 1978,1979,1980,1981,1991. Fifth place in 1982,1990. Sixth in 1988.
*Girls Track and Field: Seventh in 1981.
