"In the Name of Suffering" is the name of Sludge metal band Eyehategod's debut album, released on December 1 1992. The album was originally released on French label Intellectual Convulsion, but only 1500-2000 copies were pressed of this release before the label disappeared. They were then picked up by Century Media, who promptly rereleased the album. It was again rereleased in 2006 as part of Century Media's 20th Anniversary series of reissues with 4 bonus tracks take from the band's 1990 demo "Lack of Almost Everything" (these recordings are however available on their live album, "10 Years of Abuse (and Still Broke)").
