Carl Smith (American football)

Carl Smith (born April 26, 1948) was the offensive coordinator for the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars and the New Orleans Saints.

College career

Smith was a two-year defensive back at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo after transferring from Bakersfield, CA Junior College, where he played quarterback.

Coaching career

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 1971, University of Colorado 1972-73, Southwestern Louisiana 1974-78, Lamar University 1979-81, North Carolina State 1982, Philadelphia/ Baltimore Stars (USFL) 1983-85, New Orleans Saints 1986-96, New England Patriots 1997-99, Cleveland Browns 2001-03, University of Southern California 2004. Carl Smith was fired from the Jaguars on January 2 2007.
