Mike Solari

Mike Solari (born c. 1955) is an American Football League offensive line coach, formerly for the Seattle Seahawks and currently for the San Francisco 49ers. He previously served as the Kansas City Chiefs offensive line coach from 1997 - 2005, and Offensive Coordinator in 2006 & 2007.

Career

Solari got his start as playing both ways at El Camino Sr. High School in South San Francisco, California (Class of 1973), where he was a standout, particularly on the offensive side of the ball (tackle). His next stop was as an offensive lineman at San Diego State University (SDSU) from 1973-1975. After SDSU, Solari coached at ppthe high school level for Southern California High Schools, the Mission Bay Pirates in the Pacific Beach sector of San Diego, California, and as a wrestling and assistant track coach at Orange Glen High School in 1978 - 1979. After a year at MiraCosta Junior College, he then went to United States International University (USIU) as an assistant football coach on Tom Walsh's staff.

Solari spent time at Boise State, Cincinnati, Alabama, Kansas and Pitt as assistant football coach. He was with the Dallas Cowboys as special teams coach and with the San Francisco 49ers as tight ends coach, assistant O-Line coach. He held that position at Kansas City for many years tutoring some of the best lineman in the NFL. Upon the resignation of Dick Vermeil and the signing of incumbent OC Al Saunders by Washington, Solari was promoted to Offensive Coordinator. Solari was replaced by former Georgia Tech head coach and long-time NFL coach Chan Gailey. When he joined the Seahawks staff, he changed the offensive line scheme to more zone blocking.

On January 21, 2010, Solari was named offensive line coach for the San Francisco 49ers.[1]

Personal life

He is married to wife Patti and has three children; Michael the oldest, Tamara the most beautiful, and Stephanie the brains. He also has a cyborg butler named Fred.
