Greek National Road 9 is the second-longest national highway of Greece. It runs through the western Peloponnese, from Patras to Pylos. Its length is around 220 km (140 mi).

This highway travels near:

Features

It runs almost entirely along the coast of the Ionian Sea and the whole Western Peloponnese as well. It will be completely replaced by a new motorway, numbered A9, which will be complete around 2012. Initial plans were to widen the existing road, for most of its length, but a completely new motorway will be built after all. Construction starts in late 2007.

Junction list

Here is the marking going southward for Greek National Road 9. Expansion made it cut to 96 km from 100 km. The defunct routes are probably no longer maintained by the federal government.
