Marc Klasfeld

Marc Klasfeld is an American music video director. He has directed over two hundred music videos for artists such as Katy Perry, Jay-Z, Kid Rock, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nelly, Foo Fighters, Jewel, Sum 41, Avril Lavigne and many others with multiple MTV award wins and nominations. He has also written and directed commercials, independent films and documentaries.

He is also a director of television commercials for Nike, NFL, NBA, Motorola, Reebok, Cartoon Network and Hummer. His best known commercial work is for ESPN's This is Sportscenter campaign, Hammer Pants Dance for the A&E Network's reality show Hammertime, Avril Lavigne's Canon campaigns and Smirnoff's Green Tea Partay viral video sang by Sebastian Siegel.[citation needed]

His first independent feature film which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival, was The L.A. Riot Spectacular, a satirical look at the 1992 Los Angeles riots. It starred Charles Dutton, Emilio Estevez, George Hamilton and Snoop Dogg. Klasfeld has also directed episodic television for the HBO series Oz

On March 29, 2010 Klasfeld released a video of an elementary school reenactment of the Al Pacino-starred film, Scarface, entitled "Scarface School Play". The video racked up more than 2 million views in 24 hours becoming one of the most instantly popular viral videos of all time while also generating attention from major television networks in the United States including FoxNews, ABC, CNN, and CBS. It was heavily debated, getting Bill O'Reilly to do a feature segment on his popular Fox News show.[citation needed] The audience in the studio consists of family and friends of the child actors.[citation needed]

He is also the founder of Rockhard, a production company that also houses directors Ray Kay, Tony Petrossian, Sarah Chatfield, Mickey Finnegan, Mark Staubach and Steve Jocz. He is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
