Dexter's Laboratory is an American animated television series created by Genndy Tartakovsky for Cartoon Network. Initially debuting in 1994 as a series of shorts on World Premiere Toons, the show was picked up the following year for a full series lasting a total of 78 episodes across 4 seasons. Also released were a TV special titled "Ego Trip", a handful of music videos, and an unaired sketch aimed only for adults. "Last But Not Beast" was originally supposed to end the series in 1998, but series production picked up again in 2001 with most of the crew being replaced. The last episode aired on November 20, 2003.

Maternal Combat — Dexter creates a Mom-Droid to do his mother's chores when she falls ill. (with a fake note) but the new coach does not accept it so Dexter is forced to play dodgeball.

Dexter faces three bullies that sort of resemble the bullies from The Simpsons
Bully 1: is tall and skinny in a stalking cap just like Jimbo Jones (he also resembles Dolph Starbeam, he has his eyes often covered with his stalking cap, while Dolph has one eye often covered with his hair)
Bully 2: has a shaved head just like Kearney Zzyzwicz
Bully 3: resembles Nelson Muntz, at one point, he laughs "Ya Ha" as Nelson laughs "Ha Ha" (but he also resembles Dolph by being the third member with hair)
Rasslor — Intergalactic wrestling champion Rasslor ("Macho Man" Randy Savage) comes to Earth looking for a new opponent, and challenges all of Earth's superheroes, if no one can beat him he will destroy earth. However, Rasslor refuses to wrestle Monkey due to his size. This also marks the first appearance of the Justice Friends.
Dexter's Assistant — In need of an assistant for the science fair, Dexter makes his sister smart enough to fill the role. Unfortunately, she's smarter than Dexter.3 3 "Dexter's Rival/Simion" May 12, 1996 103 Dexter's Rival — Mandark enrolls at Dexter's school, quickly overshadowing Dexter and forces him to shut down his lab to add more power to his own lab.
Dial M for Monkey: Simion — An intelligent chimpanzee (Maurice LaMarche) tries to enlist Monkey in getting revenge on the humans who created him.4 4 "Double Trouble/Barbequor" May 19, 1996 104 Double Trouble — In order to rid himself of Dee-Dee, Dexter clones himself. However, Dee-Dee, and her friends, Mee-Mee and Lee-Lee do the same, causing havoc.
Barbequor — Monkey's birthday is interrupted by Barbequor, a villain who wants to roast Earth for his next meal.
This episode was banned from airing in America shortly after its initial airing, due to featuring a character called the Silver Spooner (a parody of the Silver Surfer) that stereotyped gay men.5 5 "Jurassic Pooch/Orgon Grindor" May 26, 1996 105 Jurassic Pooch — Dexter uses his dog's brain and heart for a Tyrannosaurus rex, and Dee-Dee makes him her pet.
Orgon Grindor — A space creature with an Italian accent takes over Monkey's mind during his date with Agent Honeydew.6 6 "Dee-Dee's Room/Huntor" June 2, 1996 106 Dee-Dee's Room — To find his missing invention, Dexter heads into the one place he fears to go: Dee-Dee's room.
Huntor — Monkey must fight for his life against a hunter on a jungle asteroid.7 7 "Star Spangled Sidekicks/TV Super Pals/Game Over" November 20, 1996 107 Star Spangled Sidekicks — Dexter and Dee-Dee enter tryouts to become Major Glory's sidekick.
TV Super Pals — Krunk, Valhallen, and Major Glory have trouble deciding what to watch on TV.
Game Over — Dexter's dad buys a game for the kids to play, later Dexter gets trapped in the videogame and Dee-Dee has to get him out of it.8 8 "Babysitter Blues/Valhallen's Room/Dream Machine" November 27, 1996 108 Babysitter Blues-Dexter tries everything to win the heart of his babysitter.
Valhallen's Room — When Valhallen loses his magic "axe" and starts to transform into a geek, Krunk and Major Glory venture into his room to find it.
Dream Machine — Dexter's nightmares become a problem, so he has Dee-Dee operate a dream machine to fix the problem.9 9 "Doll House Drama/Krunk's Date/The Big Cheese" December 4, 1996 109 Doll House Drama — After Dexter shrinks himself to doll size, he becomes an unwilling character in Dee-Dee's doll story. Due to a side effect of shrinking, he starts to confuse fantasy with reality, and starts to believe the story is real.
Krunk's Date — Krunk gets a crush on She-Thing.
The Big Cheese — Dexter invents a device in order to learn French in his sleep, but when the record skips and repeats a single phrase all night long, he wakes up to finds that he can only say "Omelette Du Fromage" (cheese omelet).
NOTE: The writers overlooked a translation error. The real way to say "cheese omelet" is "Omelette Au Fromage."10 10 "Way Of The Dee-Dee/Say Uncle Sam/Tribe Called Girl" December 11, 1996 110 Way Of The Dee-Dee-After Dee-Dee talks about Dexter's lonely lifestyle, he asks her to teach him the "Way Of The Dee-Dee."
The Justice Friends: Say Uncle Sam — Major Glory's uncle, Sam, is about to pay a visit, but the apartment's in no shape for company.
Tribe Called Girl — Wanting to learn more about girls, Dexter spies on Dee-Dee and her friends, Mee-Mee and Lee-Lee during a sleepover.11 11 "Space Case/Ratman/Dexter's Debt" December 18, 1996 111 Space Case — To get rid of some aliens, Dexter offers Dee-Dee as a test subject tricking her into thinking they're going to Candy Land.
Ratman — While trying to fix the furnace, the Justice Friends find Ratman living in their basement.
Dexter's Debt — Dexter's lab is threatened with repossession when he receives a 200 million dollar bill from NASA.12 12 "Bee Where?/Mandarker" December 25, 1996 112 Bee Where? — Major Glory is unnerved by a bee in the apartment.
Mandarker — Mandark returns to get revenge and turns to magic to beat Dexter in the science fair.13 13 "Inflata Dee-Dee/Can't Nap/Monstory" January 1, 1997 113 Inflata Dee-Dee — Dee-Dee tries on Dexter's inflatable suit, and is swept away on the wind.
Can't Nap — Valhallen invites White Tiger to the apartment, forgetting that Major Glory is allergic to cats.
Monstory — Hoping to silence Dee-Dee so he won't have to hear her story, Dexter gives her a silencing potion. However, he grabs the wrong vial and turns her into a monster by mistake.Season 2: 1997-1998

Ant Pants — Dexter prevents Dee-Dee from destroying some ants. In order to teach her about antss, Dexter and Dee-Dee enter Dexter's ant farm.15 2 "Mom And Jerry/Chubby Cheese/That Crazy Robot" July 23, 1997 202 Mom And Jerry — Dexter accidentally switches his brain with a mouse, and must avoid his mother when she decides to exterminate him. As the title suggests, this short parodies classic cat & mouse animated subjects such as Tom and Jerry.
Chubby Cheese — At the Chubby Cheese pizza restaurant, Dexter tries to slow down the Whack The Weasel machine to win a stuffed Monkey doll before Dee-Dee does. But he gets captured by security for tampering with the machine.
That Crazy Robot — One of Dexter's robot inventions becomes Dee-Dee's servant when she removes a wrench that froze him up, but the robot is willing to destroy anyone who is mean to Dee- Dee or scolds her.16 3 "D & DD/Ham Locks and Armhocks" July 30, 1997 203 D & DD — When Dexter's friends tire of the complicated traps he sets up as Lab Master, they put Dee-Dee in charge for a change of pace.
Ham Locks and Armhocks — Dexter's father gets challenged to an fist wrestling match against a local champion at a truck stop which the family car breaks down nearby.17 4 "Likeness Strikes/The Koos Is Loose/Morning Pull" August 6, 1997 204 Likeness Strikes — Dexter uses radiation therapy so he can like Dee-Dee but with the side-effect of severe consequences if he goes too long without her.
The Koos Is Loose — Dee-Dee's imaginary friend, Koosalagoopagoop (Dom DeLuise), comes to life and annoys Dexter.
Note-Koosalagoopagoop later makes a cameo appearence in The Powerpuff Girls episode "Imaginary Fiend".
Morning Pull — Dexter oversleeps, waking up mere minutes before his school bus comes, leaving him no time to finish his homework and get ready for school, so he makes a helmet which turns thirty seconds into thirty minutes.18 5 "Dee-Dee Locks And The Ness Monster/Backfire/Book′Em" August 13, 1997 205 Dee-Dee Locks And The Ness Monster — Dexter's mother forces Dexter to read to Dee-Dee when she's sick, but she makes up her own story after being bored by Dexter's story.
Backfire — Dexter fuses Dee-Dee with the family car by accident, causing mayhem.
Book Em — Dexter accidentally knocks Dee-Dee out with a library book, so he has to try to run away and to get the right potion to get Dee-Dee awake again without being caught.19 6 "Sister's Got A Brand New Bag/Shoo, Shoe Gnomes/Lab Of The Lost" August 20, 1997 206 Sister's Got A Brand New Bag — Dee-Dee's new dance annoys Dexter to no end.
Shoo, Shoe Gnomes — Dexter calls upon the "shoe gnomes" to repair his shoes, but can't rid himself of them afterwards.
Lab Of The Lost — Dexter ends up in the "old part of the lab" where his earliest inventions, long since forgotten, are not too happy to see him.20 7 "Labels/Game Show/Fantastic Boyage" August 27, 1997 207 Labels — Dee-Dee starts to take anything that belongs to Dexter, claiming that it "doesn't have his name on it." He invents a label-making gun to make sure his things do.
Game Show — Dexter and Dee-Dee compete against each other on a car show.
Fantastic Boyage — Dexter tries to inject himself into Dee-Dee to find a cure to the common cold, but ends up inside his dog subsequently believing Dee-Dee has been infected with a dog virus.21 8 "Filet Of Soul/Golden Diskette" September 3, 1997 208 Filet Of Soul — Dexter and Dee-Dee don't want to give their dead fish a proper burial, but are haunted by spirits of him when they don't.
Golden Diskette — Dee-Dee finds a "golden diskette" allowing her and Dexter to enter Professor Hawk's computer factory.

Mock 5 — To race in the "Annual Soapbox Derby down Volcano Mountain", Dexter and his father build the "Mock 5." Ocean Commotion — Dexter's family goes to the beach, where Dexter tries to communicate with whales and Dee-Dee - dressed as a mermaid - is captured by manic pirates.25 12 "The Bus Boy/Things That Go Bonk In The Night/Ol' McDexter" October 1, 1997 212 The Bus Boy — A couple of girls knock Dexter's pencil into the deep, dark back of the bus, which legend says no one returns from.
Things That Go Bonk In The Night — After a Puppet Pals marathon, Krunk dreams the Puppet Pals are attacking puppet versions of Major Glory and Valhallen.
Ol' McDexter — Dexter becomes disappointed when he ends up at an Amish farm instead of the high-tech farm for summer camp.26 13 "Sassy Come Home/Photo Finish" October 8, 1997 213 Sassy Come Home — Dexter hunts for Sasquatch, who befriends Dee-Dee because of her similarly huge feet.

Ice Cream Scream — Dexter can't get the ice cream truck to stop for him.28 15 "Decode Of Honor/World's Greatest Mom/Ultrajerk 2000" October 22, 1997 215 Decode Of Honor — Dexter and Dee-Dee's secret decoder rings hold the keys to joining the Action Hanks and Pony Puff fan clubs but the clues don't seem right.
World's Greatest Mom — Dexter accidentally gives his mother super powers, when she is hit with a ray of energy. She doesn't even notice she has superpowers, but acts like a superhero.
Ultrajerk 2000 — Dexter designs a new robot to help him with his laboratory.29 16 "Techno Turtle/Surprise!/Got Your Goat" October 29, 1997 216 Techno Turtle — Dexter rebuilds an injured turtle Dee-Dee befriends.
Surprise! — In order to see his birthday presents, Dexter turns himself invisible.
Got Your Goat — Dexter and Dee-Dee go to South America to catch the legendary chupacabra, which is actually one of Dexter's experiments. He tries to remember what he created it for.30 17 "Dee-Dee Be Deep/911/Down In The Dumps" November 5, 1997 217 Dee Dee Be Deep — Dee-Dee becomes a booming baritone after Dexter attempts to "improve" her singing.
911 — When an Action Hank episode is interrupted by the Emergency Broadcast System, Dexter travels around the world to solve the problem.
Down In The Dumps — Dee-Dee's favorite teddy bear gets sent to the dump.31 18 "Unfortunate Cookie/The Muffin King" November 12, 1997 218 Unfortunate Cookie — Dexter and Dee-Dee are stuck together by a Chinese finger trap and must travel to Chinatown to free themselves.
The Muffin King — Dexter and Dee-Dee have to keep their father away from their mother's freshly baked muffins while she is out shopping.32 19 "Picture Day/Now That's A Stretch/Dexter Detention" November 19, 1997 219 Picture Day — Dexter transforms his face so his picture will look nice, by molding a handsome face out of wax.
Now That's A Stretch — Dexter makes himself stretchy using a machine to turn himself into bubble gum.
Dexter Detention — Dexter gets sent to detention after someone caused him to shout the answer to the first question of the test in annoyance.33 20 "Don't Be A Baby/Peltra/G.I.R.L. Squad" November 26, 1997 220 Don't Be A Baby — Dexter tries to make himself and Dee-Dee older in order to see an R-rated movie, but makes everybody (except for Dexter and Dee-Dee) babies instead.
Peltra — Peltra wants to turn Monkey into a fur coat.
G.I.R.L. Squad — After a crime prevention talk at school, Dee-Dee and her friends become crimefighters.34 21 "Sports A Poppin'/Koosalagoopagoop/Project Dee-Dee" December 3, 1997 221 Sports A Poppin' — Dexter's father wants to teach Dexter some sports, but he's not very athletic.
Koosalagoopagoop — Dee-Dee enters the land of her imaginary friend Koosalagoopagoop after he lies to her that he is the king of his land.
Project Dee-Dee — When Dexter learns that Dee Dee is trying to make a science project alone she wants to help her, but she doesn't want his help. She ends up getting Dexter's help, but propels the entire school into space.35 22 "Topped Off/Dee-Dee's Tail/No Power Trip" January 14, 1998 222 Topped Off — Dexter and Dee Dee try coffee after seeing how it energizes their parents and become addicted to it.
Dee-Dee's Tail — Dee Dee complains that she wants a tail, so Dexter turns her into a horse. But everyone tries to take advantage of her.
No Power Trip — Dexter uses too much electric power, causing his laboratory to shut down until he can recharge it.36 23 "Sister Mom/The Laughing" January 21, 1998 223 Sister Mom — Dexter is afraid to bring his mother to see his principal, so he disguises Dee- Dee as her.
The Laughing — Dexter is bitten by a clown's dentures, causing him to turn into a clown every night like a werewolf. Now Dee-Dee must use the power of mime to stop him and get him back to normal.37 24 "Dexter's Lab: A Story/Coupon for Craziness/Better Off Wet" January 28, 1998 224 Dexter's Lab: A Story — Dexter adopts a Labrador Retriever and gives him a way to speak human language.
Coupon for Craziness — Dexter gets accidentially switched with an average hyperactive child who has scientist parents; neither couple notices.
Better Off Wet — Dexter tries to avoid being pushed into the pool by his father.38 25 "Critical Gas/Let's Save The World You Jerk!/Average Joe" February 4, 1998 225 Critical Gas — Dexter assumes that he only has thirty minutes to live after eating an extra-large burrito.
Let's Save The World You Jerk! — Dexter has to team up with Mandark to prevent asteroids from destroying Earth. They fail due to their arguing, and the asteroids destroy the Earth anyway. Dexter and Mandark continue to fight.
Average Joe — An intelligence test brands Dexter as "average" and the computers that graded it never makes mistakes. He shuts down his lab and lives a normal life.39 26 "Rushmore Rumble/A Boy And His Bug/You Vegetabelieve It!" February 11, 1998 226 Rushmore Rumble — Dexter and Mandark bring the Abraham Lincoln and George Washington faces on Mount Rushmore to life and make them fight each other.
A Boy And His Bug — When Dexter neglects his pet bug, which he created to devour the things metal that Dee-Dee destroys, it begins eating his lab.
You Vegetabelieve It! — Dexter's growth formula causes the plants in the garden to grow to enormous size.40 27 "Aye Aye Eyes/Dee-Dee And The Man" February 18, 1998 227 Aye Aye Eyes — A little girl with big eyes falls in love with Dexter and follows him everywhere after he returns a toy she dropped.
Dee-Dee And The Man — Dexter "fires" Dee Dee, only to realize that the chaos she causes has been helping him concentrate.41 28 "Old Flame/Don't Be A Hero/My Favorite Martian" February 25, 1998 228 Old Flame — Dexter brings the caveman who first discovered fire back from the past.
Don't Be A Hero — Dexter tries to turn himself into a superhero, but discovers that hero work is not all it's cracked up to be. He gives up after every power he tries backfires.
My Favorite Martian — Dexter travels to Mars to find intelligent life, unaware that Dee-Dee has stowed away in his capsule. After Dee-Dee gets covered in red dirt Dexter thinks she is a Martian.42 29 "Paper Route Bout/The Old Switcharooms/Trick Or Treehouse" March 4, 1998 229 Paper Route Bout — Dee-Dee's paper route is threatened by a team of rogue bicyclists (dressed as ninjas) who cause trouble. This is the first segment where Dexter doesn't appear at all.
The Old Switcharooms — Dexter's father makes him and Dee Dee stay in each other's rooms as punishment for running into him (causing his bowling trophy to break), leaving Dexter to worry about the fate of his lab and Dexter's Dad is made to switchrooms again. Dexter goes to the Doghouse and the family dog goes to Dexter's Lab.
Trick Or Treehouse — Dee-Dee builds a treehouse and won't let Dexter inside to spite him for all the times he kicked her out of his lab; however everyone but Dexter is allowed in.43 30 "Quiet Riot/Accent You Hate/Catch Of The Day" March 11, 1998 230 Quiet Riot — Dexter tries to get some sleep, which is complicated by Dee-Dee's counterproductive attempts to make sure he has peace and quiet.
Accent You Hate — A school bully picks on Dexter and his friends because of the way they talk.
Catch Of The Day — Dexter's father tries to get himself and Dexter to his fishing spot before the sun comes up and anybody else gets there. If someone gets there first, they have to try again the next day.44 31 "Dad Is Disturbed/Framed/That's Using Your Head" March 18, 1998 231 Dad Is Disturbed — Dexter's father tries to watch a golf tournament. But he is constantly distracted by his family. Barney Rubble and Betty Rubble make an appearance.
Framed — When Dexter's glasses break, he creates a new trend: cracked glasses.
That's Using Your Head — Dexter thinks a crazy homeless person wearing a metal hat really can communicate with aliens, so he takes the man to his lab to improve the reception of his hat.45 32 "DiM/Just An Old Fashioned Lab Song/Repairanoid" March 25, 1998 232 DiM — Dexter deals with the annoyances of the hardware superstore to get a light bulb. The episode is notable for containing almost no dialog except for the final punchline.
Just An Old Fashioned Lab Song... — Dexter takes piano lessons from "Professor Williams" and gradually Dexter discovers he has more musical aptitude than he thought after Professor Williams discovers his lab. Guest starring Paul Williams as Professor Williams.
Repairanoid — Dexter enlists the aid of an electrical repairman to improve the electrics in the lab.46 33 "Backwards/The Continuum Of Cartoon Fools/Sun, Surf, And Science" April 1, 1998 233 Backwards — Dexter invents a belt that makes its wearer do everything backwards, but Dee Dee gets her hands on the directional switch.
The Continuum Of Cartoon Fools — Dexter tries to figure out how Dee Dee keeps getting into his lab every time he sends Dee Dee out of one entrance and seals it.
Sun, Surf, And Science — Mandark enters a surfing contest to win Dee Dee's heart from another surfer. This is a next segment where Dexter doesn't appear at all.47 34 "Big Bots/Gooey Aliens That Control Your Mind/Misplaced In Space" April 8, 1998 234 Big Bots — Dexter and Dee Dee, using their giant robots, try to save an island's population from being destroyed by a volcano.
Gooey Aliens That Control Your Mind — Dexter's parents and sister Dee Dee have their minds taken over by an alien life form that escaped Dexter's lab.

(Conventions only)[5]S1 Dexter wants to make himself more perfect by removing all of his rude qualities using a "Rude Extractor". Dee Dee naturally shows up to unintentionally mess up Dexter's plan, causing both of them to be hit with an unstable beam from Dexter's invention. The beam separates them into good and evil halves, and the evil halves promptly knock their good sides unconscious. Immediately the bad halves start cursing at each other and wrecking up Dexter's lab before going to eat lunch. They continue to curse and act rudely until their good sides wake up. The good sides trap their rude counterparts in the lab, and they head downstairs to find their mother with a bar of soap, presumably to wash out her kids' mouths with.
Note: This episode was only shown during select animation conventions and was never aired on Cartoon Network due to the inappropriate content and language. It also never aired on Adult Swim either, a channel that uses inappropriate language on most of its shows. It is unknown if it will ever be aired on Adult swim, let alone being released on DVD.2 "Ego Trip" December 10, 1999 240-241 An army of robots comes out of Dexter's time machine, under orders to "destroy the one who saves the future." Believing them to mean him, Dexter travels to the future in order to see this event happen. He is horrified to find himself a wimpy young man, who works designing office cubicles for Mandark, his boss. Dexter convinces his older self that he is a genius who will one day save the future, and they travel to a later time together. Although they arrive in a scientific utopia, they find that the Dexter in this period is a doddering old man who can barely remember anything he has ever done. Backing up a few years, the three Dexters discover the world has fallen into ruin, and the inhabitants are extremely stupid. The Dexter in this time is a muscular hero, who reveals that Mandark stole his most prized invention, the Neurotomic Protocore (which Wimpy Dexter left in his cubicle). However, Mandark did not use the core correctly and corrupted its energies, causing the widespread stupidity and allowing him to forbid technology to all but himself. All four of them team up to bring down Mandark, using the laboratory to build a large robot to storm Mandark's castle. When they arrive to confront Mandark, he summons his counterparts from the time period of each Dexter. At the climax of the battle, Dee Dee appears from the time machine and is revealed to be the one who saves the future. In a jealous rage, the Dexters build the army of robots seen at the beginning of the film to destroy her. As the original Dexter returns to his own time, he realizes he has completed the cycle of events. However, tired of the whole ordeal, he decides to forget it and have a snack.
