Rob Campanella is a multi- talented musician, and best known for being a Los Angeles producer, engineer, and member of his current band The Quarter After.

Music career

The Quarter After

Like Rob's former band "The Drummed" (which also featured Anthony Scarpa, Moni Ritchie and Christian Hejnal of Scarling.), The Quarter After hail from Los Angeles, although their music has more to do with the spirit of Northern California's New Paisley Underground than LA's hyperbolic rock scene. The Quarter After offer bewitching psychedelic pop songs that shine with an obvious love for the classic sounds of The Kinks, The Byrds, and The Beatles, and contemporaries like The Tyde, Beachwood Sparks, and the Brian Jonestown Massacre. The band is led by Rob and his brother Dominic Campanella. Like all great brotherly musical duos, they have a nearly telepathic rapport when it comes to writing and performing together. Nelson Bragg is the drummer, he is also currently a member of Brian Wilson's band. Nelson's incredibly solid groove locks the music in place, even when the band veer off into one of their lengthy psychedelic jams. Victor Penalosa replaced original bassist Dave Koenig (who played on the album) and brings to the band teen idol looks and a great deal of songwriting, vocal, and performing experience. All four of them make a beautiful racket together. The Quarter After's self-titled debut album was released July 12, 2005 on Bird Song Recordings.

Producer, Engineer

Besides playing in the Q.A., Rob Campanella is an in-demand producer and engineer who mainly works out of his studio, the Committee to Keep Music Evil Headquarters/Figment Sounds, which is located in Hollywood, California. Figment Sounds was opened in 1999 and since then has played host to some of the most talented, most controversial and most exciting musicians from Los Angeles and beyond. The studio offers a laid-back and creative environment that stimulates fun, productive and inventive sessions (as well as the odd party). Moreover, the studio is home base for several slacker/stoner types who spend many a day (and night) lounging lazily about, soaking up the beautiful sunshine and, in general, "digging" the general grooviness of such a laid-back lifestyle.

Rob has produced and engineered many fine albums including his own band The Quarter After, Brian Jonestown Massacre (of which he's also an occasional member), The Tyde, Beachwood Sparks, Goldrush, Dead Meadow, Mia Doi Todd, The Morning After Girls, and Scarling. He is also an accomplished musician, playing almost every instrument known to man and has done guest appearances on countless albums. Rob also is a big advocate of the Revolution that is so much talked about by Anton Newcombe, of the Brian Jonestown Massacre.
