Brookfield Central High School is a comprehensive public secondary school located in the city of Brookfield, Wisconsin. It is a sister-school to Brookfield East High School, also located in Brookfield. BCHS is ranked by Newsweek as #699 in their "List of the 1200 Top High Schools in America," and seventh among Wisconsin schools on the list out of 22 schools. Academics

Brookfield Central offers 4 Advanced Placement courses along with many other classes in Art, Business Management and Technology, English, Foreign Language (French, German, Latin, and Spanish), Family and Consumer Education, Applied Technology and Engineering, Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, Science, and Social Studies.
Honors and many Advanced Placement classes are available in most subjects.

Music

The band, chorus, and orchestra groups of BCHS are quite critically acclaimed. They have played at venues ranging from the DisneyWorld Magic Kingdom Parade, Toronto, and London.

* In the Spring of 2007, the combined Chamber Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra participated in the National Orchestra and Band Festival in New York to play in Carnegie Hall.
* In March 2008, the BCHS band traveled to Los Angeles and San Diego.
* Recently, the BCHS Chamber Choir won the first annual 99.1 WMYX Christmas Choir Competition.
Combined, the programs have more than 500 participating students. They are led by band directors Jason Gillete and Matt Friedli, choir director Phil Olson, and orchestra/choir director Jane Anello.

Athletics

Brookfield Central High School has a large number of competitive sports teams competing in WIAA Division I and Division II. The athletic department and the teams that comprise Brookfield Central are very successful, a few examples being:
* In 2006, the girls tennis team won the State Championship
* In 2006 the Varsity Football team made it to state and lost in OT to Franklin 29-36
* In 2007, the girls tennis team were state-runner ups and had several notable individual state participants.
* In 2008, the girls basketball team won the conference championship, while the boys basketball team placed second.
