Chorus
Blue is the colour, football is the game
We're all together, and winning is our aim
So cheer us on through the sun and rain
'cause Chelsea, Chelsea is our name

Verse 1
Here at the Bridge whether rain or fine
We can shine all the time
Home or away, come and see us play
You're welcome any day

Chorus
Blue is the colour, football is the game
We're all together, and winning is our aim
So cheer us on through the sun and rain
'cause Chelsea, Chelsea is our name

Come to the Shed and we'll welcome you
Wear your blue and see us through
Sing loud and clear until the game is done
Sing Chelsea everyone.

Other facts

The song did not help the team to perform at Wembley, as Chelsea lost 1-2 to Stoke City, but it continues to be be played over the tannoy after victories at Stamford Bridge.

Other Versions

The song was covered by Czech singer František Ringo Čech under the title "Zelená je tráva" (Green Is The Grass), and has become a popular football anthem in former Czechoslovakia.Fact|date=March 2007

An adapted version called "Green is the Colour" is the official fight song of the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (Canadian football, not soccer.) This should not be confused with the Pink Floyd song "Green Is the Colour"

The song is translated to Finnish by Wexi Salmi and used prior to kick-off in all the home fixtures of Helsinki based Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi. It was recorded 1973 by the first squad of the team. The title in Finnish is HOO-JII-KOO, but is better known as 'Taas kansa täyttää', as the first verse begins with these words. Direct translation to English would be 'Again Terraces Are Filled'.

In 1978, the song was re-recorded as "White Is The Colour" for the Vancouver Whitecaps soccer team, and became a local hit. The Scottish rock duo The Proclaimers re-recorded "White Is The Colour" for the Whitecaps' 2002 season, and performed it live during half-time of a game [ [http://uslfans.com/news/2002/news,2002,0150.shtml Whitecaps Team Up With The Proclaimers] ] .

Supporters of the J. League Division 2 side Montedio Yamagata are also known to use a variant of the song. [ [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2emsJ4MwUvM] ] ] WWW.google.com/am/jkdm
