"Grassroots Motorsports" (GRM) is an American periodical devoted to low-cost, amateur motorsports, including road racing, autocross and rallying.

While primarily focusing on how to build a race car and participate in motorsports events, the magazine also provides coverage of amateur motorsports in the United States, and is the official publication of the National Auto Sport Association (NASA). "Grassroots Motorsports" is published eight times a year.

Project Cars

The editorial frequently has a hands-on focus, and recent GRM project cars have included a NASA Spec E30 race car, a Subaru Impreza stage rally car, a Chevrolet Corvette C5 autocross car and a supercharged E30-chassis BMW 318is. One of the most famous project cars in the magazine's history was the Ro-Spit, a 200-plus horsepower rotary-powered Triumph Spitfire. GRM ($200X) Challenge

The parent company, Motorsport Marketing, Inc., based in Ormond Beach, Florida, holds an annual competition, "the $200X Challenge," wherein contestants' entries cannot cost more than the year in dollars (i.e., $2005 in 2005). The competition consists of an autocross course, a ¼ mile (0.4 km) dragstrip time trial and a concours d'elegance.

Ultimate Track Car Challenge

In 2007, "Grassroots Motorsports" added another competition to their lineup with the Ultimate Track Car Challenge. The event was run under the National Auto Sport Association's Time Trial Rules, and 36 cars competed at the Virginia International Raceway North Course. The overall winner was a Dodge Viper Competition coupe with pro driver Tommy Archer at the wheel.
