Misc = "Angel Eyes" is a song written by John Hiatt and Fred Koller, produced by Greg Ladanyi for The Jeff Healey Band's first album "See the Light" (1988). It was first released as the album's second single in June 1989 (see 1989 in music) and peaked at number five on the "Billboard" Hot 100 and twenty-four on the "Billboard" 's Mainstream Rock Tracks. It was later covered by "Australian Idol" series one contestant Paulini and became her first number-one single in Australia.

The song debuted on the U.S. "Billboard" Hot 100 on June 17 1989 at number eighty-five. Cover versions

Paulini's version was produced by Audius Mtawarira for her first album, "One Determined Heart" (2004), and it was released as the album's first single in Australia on July 2, 2004 (see 2004 in music). Paulini states "Angel Eyes" is an amazing song. Audius came up with some great ideas and we did it and it worked. All the instruments are live. It's turned out to be one of the best songs." The music video was filmed on June 15 to June 23, 2004 in Sydney, Australia and was a simple video showing Paulini as rising young star, hitting the stage to perform and living out her dreams. The video opens up to Paulini walking down a foot path and then walking into a stage. The video then shows Paulini walking around behind the stage before proceeding out and singing to an audience of clapping fans, then ending the video.

The song became the most added song to Australian radio from the week June 19, 2004 and Paulini helped promote the song by touring with Australian band Human Nature. A week later the song officially reached number-one on July 19, 2004 and stayed their for three consecutive weeks.
