Brampton Manor School is a multi-cultural comprehensive secondary school situated in East Ham in East London and has around 1600 students and over 100 staff. Brampton Manor is the second biggest school in Newham, East London. It also was awarded specialist status as an Arts College.

The headteacher is currently Dr Dayo Olukoshi. He has extensive experience working in a number of schools and was instrumental to helping raise standards of attainment at Phoenix High School in West London. The school recently gained International Schools Status, awarded by the British Council. We recently took part in a massive charity event helping young people in Uganda, this consisted of a trip to Uganda, named "U can in Uganda".

Time table

Unlike most schools in London, the official school day starts at 8:15 with either registration or assembly and finishing at 2:20 or 1:20 on Fridays for students who do not have period 5 - one hour earlier than most. This gives pupils the opportunity to organise their time, leaving the afternoon at their leisure. As a result of this, the morning break was shortened to 15 minutes and a longer 30 minute break instead of an hour break.

Uniform

The Brampton Manor uniform consists of the following:

*White polo shirt with logo
*Navy blue jumper with logo
*Navy blue trousers, skirts or religious dresses
*Black shoes only
*Navy blue or black head scarves
*Navy blue polo shirt for PE with logo
*Navy blue shorts for PE with logo
*Navy blue or black jackets (With logo for year 7's)
*Black tights - no leggings

Future plans

*To convert the School into a Sixth-Form
*To gain an additional specialism
*To transform school buildings and learning environment

Renovational projects

A new sports hall was built and the old sports hall is currently been developed into a new drama studio with a theatre at the front as Brampton Manor is now a specialist performing arts school.

Planning has finished to convert the east side of the school to make it look like the west side, as the school ran out of money 9 years ago when they were designing it. There is a new theatre being built in the existing one but now with seats. There is also going to be a video and recording studio built.

Notable Alumni

*Ravi Bopara is a famous young Essex cricket player who was selected for the provisional England 30-man ICC Champions Trophy squad for 2006 and the England Cricket World Cup 2007 squad, was a student at the school.

*Dave Bickles, footballer with West Ham Utd, taught as a PE teacher at the school.

*Also the London rapper Ghetto, who is just starting a thriving grime career, started off at Brampton Manor
