Alexis "Lexie" Winston (Lynn-Holly Johnson) is a young girl who dreams of becoming a champion figure skater. Lexie enters a regional championship and is discoverd by a elite coach (Warren) who sees her potential despite lacked of traning and qualifications at an advanced age for figure skaters. Lexie moves from her home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to train at the legendary Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, CO. Lexie's life is drastically changed; she alienates her high school sweetheart, a handsome young hockey player called Nick (
Robby Benson ) and she begins dating an older man. One night, while skating, Alexis suffers a terrible accident that takes her sight and threatens to destroy her dreams. In the midst of feeling sorry for herself, she and Nick rediscover their love for other. With help from Nick, her father Marcus and original coach Beulah, Lexie begins to realize that she can still fulfill her dreams.ee also
