Fishbourne railway station is a railway station serving the village of Fishbourne, Apuldram and much of the Manhood Peninsula. The London, Brighton and South Coast Railway (LB&SCR) opened the station at Fishbourne on 1 April 1906 [The Fishbourne Book Hand,M(Ed) Fishbourne Fishbourne Book Group ISBN 0862605652] . Always a small halt it nevertheless was the point where a single track veered off for the branch line between Chichester and Midhurst. It is located on the West Coastway Line that runs between Brighton and Southampton. The station is roughly half a mile walk from Fishbourne Roman Palace.

Services

Typical off-peak service consists of one train per hour to Littlehampton and one train per hour to Portsmouth and Southsea. Peak services include well-used direct trains to London Victoria and London Bridge.

The passenger usage statistics materially understate the passenger traffic. For example, many schoolchildren hold season tickets from Chichester but actually board a train to Portsmouth in the morning at Fishbourne. They often have to return home via Chichester Station due to the confusing and sporadic off-peak train stopping patterns.
