Gemini is associated with the myth of Castor and Polydeuces (also known as Pollux), collectively known as the Dioscuri. Rey, 1952-1980, ISBN 0-395-24830-2.] ] Gemini is the third astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Gemini. In western astrology, this sign is no longer aligned with the constellation as a result of the precession of the equinoxes. In astrology, Gemini is considered a "masculine", positive (extrovert) sign. It is also considered an air sign, and is one of four mutable signs. [ Jeff Mayo, "Teach Yourself Astrology", pp 38-41, Hodder and Stoughton, London, 1979 ] Gemini has been closely associated with the planet Mercury and is considered to be ruled by it.

Individuals born when the Sun was in this sign are considered Gemini individuals. Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun is in the sign of Gemini roughly from May 21 to June 21.cite web |title=Astrology.com|url=http://horoscopes.astrology.com/dailygemini.html] Under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently there roughly from June 15 to July 15.

Astrological qualities and associations

Being the third sign in the zodiac, Gemini is associated with the astrological 3rd house, which is associated with natural Gemini matters - communications, siblings, neighbors and neighborhood matters, local travel and transport, education, everyday matters, brothers. [Hand, R. (1981) Horoscope Symbols, Schiffer Publishing, ISBN 0-914-91816-8]

Gemini is considered to be the domicile of the planet Mercury, and therefore is "ruled" by it. Mercury is also often associated with the aforementioned matters. Virgo is also a domicile of Mercury. [Hand, R. (1981) Horoscope Symbols, Schiffer Publishing, ISBN 0-914-91816-8]
