Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research

Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research (SFBR) is a large private research institute located in San Antonio Texas.

With 400 staff and a convert|397|acre|km2|sing=on campus, SFBR is "one of the world's leading independent biomedical research institutions." [http://www.sfbr.org/pages/about_SFBR.php]

SFBR houses the [http://www.snprc.org/ Southwest National Primate Research Center] , the world's largest Baboon colony for biomedical research.

SFBR is also home to the only privately owned Biosafety level 4 (BSL-4) laboratory in the United States.

The Foundation's [http://www.sfbr.org/pages/about_resources3.php AT&T Genomics Computing Center] is "the world's largest computer cluster devoted to statistical genetic analysis."
