Elena Maria Vidal (1962- ) Catholic author, historian and lecturer on faith and history, living in State College, Pennsylvania. She is an author whose research has corrected previous misconceptions about Marie Antoinette and the French Revolution. Vidal's novel "Trianon" ("St Michaels Press",1997) is an historical novel of the true story of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, based on actual correspondences between real figures from French history who are the main characters in the story. Vidal's novels include:
*Trianon: A Novel of Royal France" (Neumann Press, 2000)
*Madame Royale" (Neumann Press, 2000)
*Soon Will Come the Dawn" (scheduled 2007) "Madame Royale" is a historical novel and sequel to "Trianon". Set in the age of the French Revolution, it depicts the life of the daughter of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette, Princess Marie-Therese-Charlotte, the Duchess of Angouleme, and her search for her brother, Louis XVII, the lost Dauphin. In the same manner as its predecessor, this book corrects many previous historical misconceptions and inspires faith. Vidal has been the guest in a number of interviews and lectures, including a February 2006 appearance on the EWTN Bookmark program with Doug Keck.
