Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies

Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (popularly known as CBS) is located in Vivek Vihar, East Delhi, India. It was set up by the Human Resource Development Ministry in 1987 as the first collegiate business school in India to impart business and management education at the undergraduate level. Two decades since its inception, CBS has metamorphosed from a mere academic institution into a rich and glorious tradition, one that has shaped numerous lives and careers.

Lately, the coveted BBS (Bachelors in Business Studies) course was introduced in two other Delhi University colleges, Keshav Mahavidyalaya and DDU College. The three colleges together, churn out the best undergraduate management students every year.

BBS has been awarded the "Best Undergraduate Degree" in South Asia by the Commonwealth.

Courses offered at CBS

The college offers four courses including three 3-year degree courses namely Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS), Bachelor of Financial and Investment Analysis (BFIA) and Bachelor of Science (H) Computer Science. The fourth one is a one and half a year full time Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA)

Admissions

The admission process begins with an open advertisement in national dailies followed by the issue of the prospectus of all three colleges. A joint written examination for the three colleges is conducted nation-wide to check the mental, logical, verbal and analytical skills. The written test is followed by a group discussion and an interview. 100 Genral Students and 20 SC/ST students are selected each year. About 25000 candidates appeared for the entrance examination held on 1st June 2008. Presently there are 139 students in bbs and 48 students in bfia in sukhdev college, 36 seats in Keshav Mahavidyalaya and DDU College each.

What gives CBS the edge?

Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (CBS) is the premier and the only specialized institution of the University of Delhi, imparting education in the field of management and information technology with excellence and vision. We catch the student young and shape them into matured professional managers with a difference, ready to take up the challenges posed by the fast pace of change in the wake of liberalization and globalization of the Indian economy.

Philosophy at sscbs

"There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you are interested in doing something, you do it only when circumstance permit. When you are committed to something, you accept no excuses, only result."
