NightLink trial

Route numbers prefixed by the letter 'N' represent a NightLink service. NightLink services are trial late night services for Friday and Saturday nights along selected major routes. NightLink services travel from Fortitude Valley, then in to the city and on to suburban destinations. There are also a few routes travelling to Fortitude Valley via City. The NightLink service was first tried on the night of Friday December 2, 2005. All night rail services on the Caboolture, Shorncliffe, Cleveland, Beenleigh, Ipswich and Ferny Grove lines were also provided. Since the trial began in December, each service has carried an average of 30 passengersref|City_News_Issue_131

The Minister, Paul Lucas, indicated low patronage figures were recorded on some rail lines. During late August, NightLink rail services on the Cleveland, Ferny Grove and Shorncliffe Lines were discontinued and replaced by hourly buses. The remaining NightLink rail services and NightLink buses will continue for a further 12 months, and the current NightLink bus services is expanded to other destinations.ref|NightLink_13_July
