Huntingdon railway station serves the town of Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire. The station has three platforms, although only two are normally used in day to day workings with one being used for amended workings alongside other operators. Trains that stop at Huntingdon are operated by First Capital Connect and they have a direct route to London and Peterborough.

Facilities

The station is staffed for most of the working day, and ticket barriers have been installed, which are also being rolled out across the whole First Capital Connect network as a revenue protection exercise. Additionally, there are 2 ticket machines at the station.

There are male and female toilet facilities at the station, as well as a limited amount of shelter. There is also a combined newsagent and buffet on the London bound platform. The station was subject to an arson attack in 2005, and much of the station roof had to be rebuilt, as well as the booking hall.

There is a taxi rank situated directly outside the entrance to the London bound platforms. A considerable amount of parking is provided - there are car parks adjacent to both platforms.

A limited bus service is provided to Godmanchester (Bus 476), Hartford and St Ives (Bus 556), and St Ives and Somersham (bus 436) during the rush hours from a stop directly adjacent to the station. More buses are available from a stop on the main road (George Street) nearby - Buses 330/332 to Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Warboys and Ramsey; 332 to Chatteris and March; buses 466/566/565 to Brampton, Buckden, and St Neots; and bus 571 between Brampton and Hartford also stops near the station.

Huntingdon has a basic half hourly service to London Kings Cross operated by First Capital Connect, journey times range from 1 hour to about 1 hour 20 mins. In the opposite direction trains run up the line to Peterborough where they terminate taking 10 - 20 mins. In the peaks it is also served by Express First Capital Connect services that take about 45 minutes.
