Prabhu Guptara

Professor Prabhu Guptara (born 1949 in Delhi, India) is an authority on the impact of technologyref|globalist on globalizationref|harvard, on strategy, on knowledge management ref|km, on corporate social responsibility ref|csr, on comparative and cross-cultural ethics, and on managementref|management and leadership issues ref|oup. Widely known as a speaker and broadcaster, he is or has been Chairman, Director or Board Member of various companies and organisations ref|prabhuguptarasite. As Executive Director, Organisation Development, at Wolfsberg - The Platform for Business and Executive Development [http://www.wolfsberg.com] (a subsidiary of UBS, one of the largest banks in the world), he is responsible for the "Wolfsberg Think Tanks" on a wide variety of market and global issues. A Freeman of the City of London, and of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists, and Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development; he is Fellow: of the Institute of Directors, of the Royal Commonwealth Society, and of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of the Arts Commerce and Manufactures [http://www.rsa.org.uk] ; and Member: Executive Board, IFB Institute of Management, University of St. Gallen, Switzerland [http://www.unisg.ch/english] ; International Advisory Council, Development Alternatives, India; Member of the International Advisory Panel for the "Tomorrow's Global Company Report" by Tomorrow's Company, U.K.

He continues to supervise PhD research at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) as well as to be visiting professor at various Universities and Business Schools around the world.

His earlier roles include a Governor of the Polytechnic of Central London, Member of the Council of the British Institute of Management, of the International Federation of Training & Development Organisations (IFTDO), of the Association for Management Education and Development (UK), of the South East Regional Council of the Confederation of British Industry.

Prabhu Guptara is also a member of the Jury of numerous literacy, business and management competitions in the UK and the Commonwealth. He has been a guest contributor to major newspapers and radio channels in the UK as well as numerous such media in other parts of the world. Since 2006 he is founding member at the World Future Council.

Prabhu Guptara is the eldest son of Murli Manohar Guptara and Chinamma Ninan. He is married, has four children, and is included in "Debrett's People of Today" as well as in "Who's Who in the World".
