John Arrowsmith (scholar)

John Arrowsmith (29 March 1602 Gateshead – February 1659 Cambridge) was educated at St Johns College, Cambridge. He became a preacher at King's Lynn, Norfolk. He was elected as Master of St Johns, Cambridge on April 11 1644. He took his doctorate in 1647 and became Vice-Chancellor of the University the same year. In 1651, he was elected Regius Professor of Divinity, and, in 1653, Master of Trinity College, Cambridge. He resigned his professorship in 1655 and died February 1659.
