Ralf Youtz (aka Ron Youtz) (born
San Francisco ,1972 ) is an American musician. Youtz was the original drummer in the Boise,Idaho -basedindie rock bandBuilt to Spill . He appeared on their1993 debut album, "Ultimate Alternative Wavers ". Youtz was replaced by Andy Capps after the album's release, although he would work with Marstch again withThe Halo Benders . Youtz also had short stints with the bands Sone andThe Feelings . Youtz plays guitar and sings inApe Shape , which opened forBuilt to Spill on several dates of their 2005 tour. He also plays bass inThe No-No's . His sister,Karena Youtz is married toBuilt to Spill frontmanDoug Martsch .Youtz graduated from
Twin Falls High School in Twin Falls,Idaho , in1990 and was responsible for choosing "Knock Me Down" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers as the "unofficial" song of his graduating class.External links
