Cascade, New Hampshire

Cascade, New Hampshire

. The village gets its name from an alpine waterfall which is visible in the hills to the east.

The city of Berlin is made up of a number of ethnic villages (Norwegian, French, Irish, Russian, Italian, etc...) into which its early immigrant population settled. In historical times, Cascade was a predominantly Italian and Polish village.

The village of Cascade straddles NH Route 16, the main road into Berlin from the south. The upland part of Cascade, to the west of the road, is known as Cascade Hill, while the low-lying eastern portion is called Cascade Flats.

A paper finishing mill, operated by Fraser Papers, occupies a prominent location in the middle of the village.
