Kate Braid

Kathleen (Kate) Braid (born March 19, 1947) is a Canadian poet.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, she was raised in Montreal, Quebec, and attended Mount Allison University and Simon Fraser University. Her first collection of poetry, "Covering Rough Ground" (1991), was awarded the Pat Lowther Award.

She lives in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Currently she is considered to be very influential to the face of modern BC lit.Fact|date=July 2008 Her work "To the Cedar Fountain" is being taught in English 110 at the University of British Columbia.Fact|date=July 2008
