Greysouthen

Greysouthen

Greysouthen (Pronounced: "Grey-soon") is a small village between the towns of Workington and Cockermouth, which are in Cumbria, in the North West of England.

The village does not have very many services but it does have a village hall which is used as a Post Office on Monday afternoons. Greysouthen is divided into two by the local residents – "up the went" and "down the went". The "went" is a hill directly in the centre of Greysouthen.

Greysouthen also has a bus service connecting Workington and Cockermouth about ten times a day. This is the 36 bus service which is funded by the county council and operated by minor bus companies. Greysouthen has one large playing field and a smaller garden which was made for the Queen's Silver Jubilee. The village used to have a B&B but it was closed down, although there is a caravan park.

The village is surrounded by farmland and has a couple of streams running through it.
