List of announcers of major college bowl games

The following are lists of television networks and announcing teams that have broadcast major United States college football bowl games throughout the years. An announcing team usually consists of a play-by-play announcer and one or more color commentators.

Rose Bowl

Television network, play-by-play and color commentator(s) for the Rose Bowl from 1952 to the present

Sugar Bowl

Television network, play-by-play and color commentator(s) for the Sugar Bowl from 1953 to the present

Orange Bowl

Television network, play-by-play and color commentator for the Orange Bowl from 1953 to the present

Fiesta Bowl

Television network, play-by-play and color commentator(s) for the Fiesta Bowl from 1987 to the present. The Fiesta Bowl began in 1971, but was considered a “minor bowl” until the January 2, 1987 game between Penn StateMiami (Fla), the top two teams in the nation. Since then, the Fiesta Bowl has been considered a major bowl.

Cotton Bowl Classic

Television network, play-by-play and color commentator(s) for the Cotton Bowl Classic from 1953 to 1998. The Cotton Bowl Classic was considered a “major bowl” from inception until it was excluded from the formation of the Bowl Championship Series in 1998. As a result, the Cotton Bowl Classic has been considered a “minor bowl” and since that date.

Holiday Bowl

Only for 1984 as this is the only time a minor bowl hosted the eventual national champion (Brigham Young).
