North Grenville, Ontario

North Grenville was established in January 1998 as a township in eastern Ontario, Canada, in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville on the Rideau River. In 2005, a motion of Council adopted the designation of 'municipaity'. It is located just South of the City of Ottawa, Canada's National Capital Region.

The largest community in North Grenville is Kemptville (with a 2001 population of 3,667 [ [http://www12.statcan.ca/english/profil01/CP01/Details/Page.cfm?Lang=E&Geo1=CSD&Code1=3507058&Geo2=PR&Code2=35&Data=Count&SearchText=kemptville&SearchType=Begins&SearchPR=01&B1=Population&Custom= Statistics Canada] ] ,). It is located on the Kemptville Creek (historically South Branch of the Rideau River) in close proximity to Ottawa, sitting midway between suburban Ottawa and the Prescott-Ogdensburg bridge on Highway 416.
