Coastal range

A Coastal range is any range of mountains forming a coastline.

* North American examples are the coastal ranges of Canada, Mexico and the U.S. states of Oregon, Washington, and California, called the Pacific Coast Ranges.

* Coastal range (Haian Range), a range in east Taiwan.

*Cordillera de la coasta, a range in Chile.They are often created by subduction of the nearby oceanic plate and typically contain active volcanoes. The inland side of a coastal range may be in a shadow.
