Personal life

Phil Sgrosso, born September 16, 1985, is the former guitarist for extreme metal outfit Tomra and current guitarist for the metalcore band As I Lay Dying since 2003. Along with appearing on the 2006 retrospective A Long March, Sgrosso co-wrote the album "Shadows Are Security" and "An Ocean Between Us". Sgrosso has been a member of As I Lay Dying since October 2003.

Sgrosso was born in San Diego, California. He grew up in Oceanside, California, and graduated from Vista High School in June 2003. .

Sgrosso's favourite bands include In Flames and Iron Maiden, both of which with As I Lay Dying has toured extensively.

Sgrosso is also a member in the band Double Whammy (with band-mate Nick Hipa) and Sabertooth.
